New Online Directory for Finding Patent Law Firms and Patent
Lawyers
Midland, Mich. -- May 3, 1999 (Xpress Press) -- According to
statistics released the first quarter of 1999, in calendar year 1998, the
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) granted a record 163,209 patents,
an increase of 31.5 percent over the 1997 figures.
"American enterprise is obviously going strong," says Bonny
Damocles, "but the patent process is complicated and companies often
need advisors in this very specialized area." Damocles is the
president of PatentLawFirms.com a new online directory of patent law firms
and patent experts.
According to the company's estimates there are more than 10,000 patent law
firms in the United States, Canada and Europe and several thousands more
in other countries with only a few of firms hosting their own websites.
"Considering the increase in patent grants, we found there was a need
for a comprehensive directory devoted to this specialty where businesses
and individuals could find an expert that suited their needs," said
Arnold Damocles, vice president of the company.
PatentLawFirms.com accepts listings from patent law firms, patent
attorneys, patent agents and other intellectual property law
practitioners. PatentLawFirms.com also accepts advertisement for
patent matters, such as patent searches, drafting, patent
seminars, patent bar exams review classes and related matters. The
listing fee is $50 per year for which the site will host a web page with
links to the company's existing web site.
